H emailed a FLT training company to find out whether his current licences are valid in NZ.
Apparently they're not quite, but he would only need to do a refresher course and that most companies would accept his job application with his current licenses and experience, with the provision he does the course, which is approx £30 so more than affordable.
I don't know what this means for the EOI or how many (if any) points will be added, but it does mean his job prospects are better than we thought. If he can get an offer of employment, our EOI points will go up automatically.
What is going to be the difficult thing is timing the application...

Tawa, New Zealand
This little town has won my heart and this will be where we'll settle if we get PR.
Above: the main street with lovely floral roundabout.
This is about as busy as it gets :)
Above: other end of the main road. One of the schools is at the bottom.
The hills are simply stunning.
Above: one of the parks, complete with playground.
I don't dare share this photo with the kids as they'd want to go tomorrow!

Welcome
My husband and I have decided to emigrate from Manchester UK to New Zealand.
This is our blog, charting the biggest decision and the biggest move we've ever made.
